Challenge
My biggest chllenge as a student actually did not come from the classroom or involve changing schools. The hardest balance in my life that I have slowly learned to juggle, but don't think I can ever fully understand, is between working and school. I have to give praise to all of you for doing it longer than I have. I am assuming that I am the youngest person on our blog at 21 years old. Ever since I was 15 my dad pushed me out into the work force. He has always been a big supporter of those who support themselves and it has always been something I have valued in him. It is much harder in college than when I was in high school though. When I first moved up here I found a solid job that made me lots of tips, the bar industry. I loved the initial cash flow but the amount of hours I put in was overwhelming especially when my courses started getting harder and more involved. I am still in the bar business and sometimes work over 30 hours a week strictly at nights. It really takes its toll after awhile and has been such a challenge to me trying to support just myself while keeping up my grades. Once again praise to the rest of you for doing it as long as I have and probably longer!

ReplyDeleteI applaud you for keeping up with a job and school. I did it a long time ago but was also married so we had two incomes. The other difference was things were a lot less expensive back then so finances were tight but I can't imagine trying to manage in today's economy. Hope you can keep up the pace and find some enjoyment along the way.
