Hello everyone!
I would like to welcome you to my official IDS Blog site. I am relatively new at Blogging, but look forward to becoming acquainted with the environment. Since this is my first post, I would like to take a minute to introduce myself. My name is Shelley, and people call me...Shelley. :) I am the proud mother of 4 beautiful girls. They are 14, 11, 9, and 8, but on their behalf I MUST add the all important ALMOST 15, 12, 9 1/2 and 8 1/2! They are my full-time job and have been for ALMOST 15 years. However, each of them would argue that my full-time job for the past year has been school. While this is true, I try to remind them that I could have stretched this into a couple more years...instead, I chose the fast and furious route. I am the "rip the band-aid off" kinda girl. Because I chose the "fire hose" method I am happy to announce that I will be graduating from UCF this Summer. I will complete my Interdisciplinary degree with minor in History. My two core disciples are Education and Behavioral/Social Sciences. My intent is to possibly teach history someday. I must say, I'm not exactly in a hurry to enter the classroom as an educator, due to the fact that my children are all still young (and I would like to relax by my new pool for a bit). But maybe someday! We'll just have to wait and see how the next few years play out. I look forward to working with each of and establishing a fantastic network of friends and colleagues.
